The Road to Exalted is Paved with Riches – Cut Out the Mindless Grind and Learn How to Become the Ultimate Master of WoW Reputations

Let me guess. You’re Level 80. You have tons of gold. You go raiding every day and come home with the best gear.

Sorry, I get it mixed up sometimes. After all, those characters are so much bigger than life. They seem to be all over the place, throwing their weight around, showing off their world class gear, gold stashes, achievement points, and guild status.

Here’s the thing though – they all had to go through the same vicious, mind-numbing grind to get all that stuff. They all had to find their way to Exalted status with dozens of different factions. They all had to find the right dailies, break up their time in the right small increments and make it happen day in and day out.

If you don’t already know my story by now, let me introduce myself. My name is T Dub Sanders and I’ve been playing World of Warcraft since the beta days back in 2004. I have just about everything you could possibly imagine in this game. Tier 10 gear? Check. Mountain of Mounts? Check. Gold Cap on multiple characters? Check.

But, here’s the thing. I didn’t start out there. I didn’t just wake up one day at the top of the WoW pyramid. I had to work damn hard to get where I am. And to be perfectly honest, half that work was a waste of my time. I didn’t know what the heck I was doing. I spent hours of my life grinding the wrong reputation in the wrong location with the wrong characters.

So, let’s take a jump forward and see what happened. I got better. I got a lot better. I spent hours and hours researching what it would take to play the game like those dancing twerps in Ironforge and Orgrimmar. I interviewed the biggest and baddest players on my server.

But, I didn’t give up. I devoured information left right and sideways until I had everything I needed to know in front of me. I was not going to give up, because I knew for a fact there was an easier way to do all this stuff. I was not just going for Exalted, I was going for the whole freaking thing.

Some people measure success in WoW by the number of PvP matches they win. Others measure it by the amount of gold they have. Others still think it has to do with how much gear they have laying around.

I’m here to tell you that the single most powerful sign of your prowess in WoW is the number of reputations you’re able to max out. Here’s why:

Reputation grinding is going to get you ten times farther than anything else in World of Warcraft. We’re talking about the top patterns, the top enchants, the top mounts, the top daily quests. It’s all there for the taking – but only if you hit Exalted with all those long grind reputations.

And that’s where I am today. After hours and hours of my life devoted to the most entertaining pastime I can imagine, I have reached the pinnacle of what anyone could call gaming immortality, and it’s all because of the reputations.

I don’t take my claims lightly. I know that there are those of you out there with far less time and far less patience than myself. That’s why I didn’t stop at getting to Exalted with the reputations available to me. I did it again. Read more…
